Communicating on the sustainability of an event

Evaluation is the best way to measure the success of an eco-event in tangibleterms. It will also be a good opportunity to communicate your sustainability convictions and successes in a judicious and transparent way, both to your partners and to a wider audience.

How do you communicate on the impact and success of an event?

Integrating sustainability criteria into the events sector is a process of continuous improvement, which we must embark upon with humility and transparency:

  • First step: measure both quantitatively (number of sustainable actions implemented and results) and qualitatively (testimonials on experiences).
  • Second step: communicate the investments and results achieved at the event and beyond (via the press and/or social networks), to explain the good practices put in place.

Involving all the stakeholders is the key to a successful event. To achieve this:

  • Identify all the stakeholders (participants, neighbours, local, regional and even national authorities, the media, etc.) as soon as the event is designed.
  • Inform all the audiences concerned about the preparation, progress and results of the event.
  • Involve the stakeholders in the continuous improvement process for the event.
