Making energy savings

Between lighting, heating, air conditioning, water, electricity… Whether we’re in the office or working from home, we can hardly do without our daily energy consumption. Rest assured, it is entirely possible to reduce it by adopting certain reflexes that we will refer to here as eco-gestures!

How can you reduce energy consumption at work?

At the office :

  • Save water by turning the tap off when you wash your hands, and prefer cold water to hot.
  • Save electricity by switching off your appliances when you leave your desk, or by moving desks closer to windows to take advantage of natural light;
  • Turn down the heating, make sure there’s nothing in front of it to block the heat and close doors and windows tightly to prevent heat loss.
  • Limit air conditioning by airing offices in the early hours of the morning and switching it off when you leave the premises.

When teleworking:

  • Optimise your journeys to avoid travelling back and forth by car as much as possible, and use soft mobility whenever possible;
  • Minimise your digital consumption by choosing WiFi over 4G, for example;
  • Control your energy consumption by switching on lights only when necessary, closing doors and windows to keep warm in winter and cool in summer, and using multiple socket outlets to switch off all your appliances easily when your working day is over.
